For over 100 years, the Hawaiian Kona has been grown in the north and south districts of Kona. The area is a coastal region of the Hawaii’s Big Island with a perfect micro climate for the coffee plant. It is located on the west slopes of the Mauna Loa and Hualalai volcanoes, thus protecting plantations from the strong winds blowing on the island. This is where the precious beans are grown and carefully handpicked in family farms with the greatest care. In addition, a rich volcanic soil and perfect climatic conditions give to the coffee its exquisite taste and aroma.

Due to limited availability the minimum order on Kona is 2lbs. While it may seem expensive most who enjoy it consider Kona coffee worth it, and when brewed at home still only works out to between 1 and 2 dollars a cup (remember that Kona is quite strong and usually less coffee is needed in your brewer or press).
